Asustek to Make Small Windows 8 Tablets
Asustek Computer Inc. of Taiwan plans to sell small Windows 8 tablet computers this year, giving a boost to Microsoft Corp.'s efforts to reduce the size and price of mobile devices running its operating system.
Windows 8 has so far made little headway in combating the dominance of Google Inc.'s Android and Apple Inc.'s iOS devices, holding less than 4% of the tablet market in the first quarter, according to market-research firm IDC. Analysts said pricing has been a significant factor.
