Lenovo Aims To Enter US Smartphone Market Within 12 Months, Says CEO
Lenovo is the world’s second largest PC vendor in last year just slightly behind Hewlett-Packard. The business of Lenovo has blossomed since it purchased computer business of IBM. But this isn’t enough for the North Carolina based company as it has set its slights on the smartphone market.
In recent interview, Lenovo CEO Yang Yuanqing said that the company aims to enter the US smartphone market within 12 months. He said that the sales and profits of Lenovo in the computer market has been increasing in recent years.
Lenovo entered the smartphone market later than the likes of Huawei and ZTE. But the company owned the China second largest market share just behind Samsung. Lenovo has 11 percent of market share while Samsung has 17.4 percent.
Since last year, Lenovo has entered the countries outside China include India, Russia and Indonesia. Soon, the targets are the United States and European countries.
