Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) today announced it was named the worldwide leader in service delivery platforms for the second year in a row as well as the global leader in service fulfillment systems by leading industry analyst firm Analysys Mason in two recent reports (Service Delivery Platforms, Worldwide Market Shares 2012 and Service Fulfillment Systems, Worldwide Market Shares 2012).

According to the reports, which profile top vendors in the respective segments by market share annually, Ericsson maintained its leadership in the SDP market in 2012, taking 16 percent share of worldwide revenue. Ericsson also once again secured the top spot in service fulfillment systems, with nearly 12 percent market share.

"These latest reports reaffirm Ericsson’s position as the solution of choice for communications service providers (CSPs) worldwide looking to realize the potential of new market growth, greater efficiencies and a better experience for their customers," said Elisabetta Romano, Vice President and Head of OSS and Service Enablement, Business Unit Support Solutions, Ericsson.

"In recent years, Ericsson has executed a strategy to position the company as a leader in the SDP and service fulfillment systems markets," Romano added. "We are gratified that Analysys Mason has validated our efforts by identifying Ericsson as the worldwide market share leader in these important segments. We will continue to aggressively pursue opportunities in these growing sectors.

Through its Consulting and Systems Integration (CSI) capabilities Ericsson delivers more than 1 500 CSI projects per year, a substantial portion of which are OSS and SDP engagements. Through CSI led engagements, Ericsson focuses on supporting operators to achieve efficient operations and telecom end-user services which are supported by state of the art Software platforms.

Also notable earlier this year, leading industry analyst firms Gartner and Infonetics Research named Ericsson the worldwide leader in telecom operations management (Market Share Analysis: Telecom Operations Management – BSS, OSS and SDP, Worldwide, 2011-2012, April 29, 2013) and the SDP Vendor of Choice (SDP Strategies and Vendor Leadership: Global Service Provider Survey, June 6,2013), respectively.
