A collection of future mobile phone concepts
The folks over at Gophone have compiled an assortment of future mobile phone concepts. Interesting designs but I doubt we will see them in the near future. They are cool nonetheless.
The first concept is called the Zeus. It is a dual slider (like Helio's Ocean). It slides down for a keypad and sideways for a full QWERTY keyboard. Everything is touch controlled including the keyboard and keypad in addition to the screen. As seen in the second pic, 2 phones can connect to play multiplayer games. Nice design but I don't really like regular sliders, let alone a dual slider.
The second concept is called Aphrodite. It is named after the Greek God of love and beauty because the phone is focused on love and beauty. It is of clamshell design and makes use of a new generation scalable material. It has an external OLED display. The phone opens up to reveal a full touchscreen and has a function which turns it into a mirror. There are matching bluetooth accessories cleverly disguised as earrings, necklaces and rings. This concept phone is targeted at the ladies. This is one nice design and I am sure the ladies agree.
The third concept is called the Credo. Gophone describes this phone by using Lexus as an example. They wanted to emphasize the luxury and artistic quality of this phone. It is in a wave design so it sits better on surfaces (like on your table or on the car dashboard). It is mainly made of quality wood with luxury materials. There is also a gold and titanium version. I don't really like this design. It would look weird in my pocket...
The forth concept is called the Aura. This is a thin widescreen full touchscreen phone (kinda like the LG PRADA). There is a small part that slides along the screen which also changes the orientation of the screen (portrait and landscape). There is a thin slide out QWERTY keyboard from the side. Here are some specs:
- 900/1800/1900 network support
- 2 mega pixel camera
- measures 107x45x17.2 mm
- 1.8 inch 260k touchscreen
- SD card support
I like this phone the most of these concepts. I think the phone will be too small for it to be usable. 1.8 inch screen is way too small for a touchscreen in my opinion.
The last concept is called the Crank. It is called that simply because it has parts that can be rotated. It has a built in cam and GPS. The cam can be rotated and the phone actually comes with a crank which you rotate to charge the phone. I find this concept just to eccentric. I don't really understand what is going on and there are so many moving parts (reminds me of Transformers).
