Sony Ericsson W660 firmware on K610/V630/K618

Someone over at se-nse attempted and succeeded in flashing the W660 firmware onto his V630. Since the K610 and K618 is identical to the V630 so it's logical to assume this will also work with them as well. Why would anyone want to do this? Well the W660 comes with a Walkman firmware meaning a better media player and flash menus which the K610/K618/V630 lack. The flash is possible but with many problems . Here is what the flasher posted:

"DO NOT FLASH YOUR PHONE AT THIS TIME WITH W660i FW - THERE ARE TOO MUCH PROBLEMS RIGHT NOW ...SE W660i IS CID 52 ONLY!!! AT THIS MOMENT ONLY WOTAN SERVER HAS THE W660i FW AND YOU NEED ONE CREDIT TO FLASH & FINALIZE IT. IF YOUR PHONE IS NOT CID 52 YOU HAVE TO UPDATE IT WHAT ALSO NEEDS ONE CREDIT! BUT DON'T TRY THIS AT THIS TIME - WE DON'T KNOW WHAT FEATURES REALLY WORK AND WHAT NEW PROBLEMS IT WILL BRING

...so great news to all k610/k618/v630 users! today i flashed my v630 cid52 to w660i cid52 and it really works. i will put all informations in next hours about it because first i flashed it without finalize just to look if it works ... here are the first pics ...

last picture shows error message which you will get if your phone is not finalized ...

so i have played now about one hour with the v630i@w660i phone but there are more troubles than anything else ...first of all here are some facts:

- your phone (k610/k618/v630) has to be an cid52 phone because w660i is cid52 only (otherwise you must first upgrade)
- fw is available only at wotan server
- only asian generic fw (with english and china language), other fw only with t-mobile and vodafone branding
- phone will be flashed and finalized complety without any problems
- umts/3g is working with no problems (some told something about umts 2100)
- menus etc. incl. flash menus are working without any problems (see phone contents attachment)
- cam (photo and video) does work

- problem 1: display is inverted, a little bit flickering
- problem 2: walkman 2 player doest not start, phone hangs
- problem 3: radio does not work, radio menu will start and then phone hangs
- problem 4: playing sound from my phone menu starts but after few seconds it stops and phone hangs

i think the problem with radio could be solved by changing the menu file and throwing out any link to radio. the display driver could be changed to a k610/k618/v630 one, maybe the complete sound driver too then the problems with walkman 2 player and playing sound files would be solved too ...

anyway i can't do more at this moment because this fw is cid52 only so there is no access to filesystem via bruteforce ... only way is via the davince-no-bruteforce-hack and i cannot afford more credits at this time.

now it's up to you professional fs modders ... i also never used the no-bruteforce-hack for cid51/52 phones and have no experiences with this ... so maybe you can test other drivers etc.
