Forum Nokia Open C Challenge - sponsored by Orange Partner and Symbian Developer Network

Sign up for the application competition of the year, the Open C Challenge, with over $20,000 in prizes and an opportunity to showcase your winning application at the Symbian Smartshow in London.

As the industry leader in mobile communications, Forum Nokia, in conjunction with Orange and Symbian, strives to encourage developers to design and build applications that deliver the greatest value to customers. Technical innovation drives success, and the sponsors of the Open C Challenge (the Challenge) are committed to recognizing the best and brightest minds in the mobile development community by launching the first annual “Open C” Challenge.

Open C brings the familiar standard C function libraries to the S60 platform and makes it easier to develop native applications in addition to porting open source applications to S60 devices from Linux or C. Through the Challenge, Nokia. Orange and Symbian hopes to stimulate and reward innovation in mobile application development.

Open C categories of competition
Port an existing application to S60 ─ Entries to this category will include 3rd Edition applications ported from already existing open source projects or from other mobile platforms.

Native development of an application using S60 and Open C ─ Entries to this category will consist of brand new applications created using Open C.
Registration for the Open C Challenge begins on Monday, July 16, 2007 at 9:00 am EST. Contestants must submit their final mobile applications by Friday, August 31 2007 no later than 11:59 p.m. EST. Click here to register.
