Sony Ericsson S500i flashed with W580i firmware

Shaolinmonk from Howardforums has flashed his S500 with the W580 firmware lately. Lot's of people are probably curious if this works and what are the results. Thanks to him we know it's possible and the pros/cons. Here is what he posted:

"evilgabbie... my buddy just flashed my gf's s500i to w580i firmware.... and it turns on wooooohooooo...

just spend a few mins going over the changes... the following i can report

-walkman app works.. megabass, skins etc..etc... is all there
-fitness app and radio are added in the menu's

But the radio and accelrometer chips don't seem to be on the phone.. the shake n shuffle feature doesn't work, the radio can't find any stations..and the fitness app doesn't register your movements... so if you want walkman app and different themes... it will work.. but looks like the other items are dependent on hardware are phyiscally missing from the phone board...

i personally like it cause i like having a walkman button vs. a internet button..

lol if it brick'd i'd be buying her a new one..so the pressure is on me lol and i'd strange gabe of course...

internet button in front will now activate the walkman app... that is how the w580i firmware is designed.. just look at a pic of the phone and you'll see what i mean... (not a custom edit...)

but the pretty everchanging theme is gone... need to get that back for her and hope it still works..
