Motorola’s Award-Winning WiMAX CPEi 300 Marks Debut with Live Performance at WiMAX World USA

Stylish, compact and easy to install CPEi 300 brings WiMAX coverage inside for home and small office use; provides both VoIP and data access

WIMAX WORLD USA – CHICAGO – 24 September 2007 – Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT), a leading provider of end-to-end WiMAX solutions, will showcase its award-winning CPEi 300 as part of the live WiMAX experience at the Motorola booth (#501) at WiMAX World USA in Chicago Sept. 26-27.

The new, sleek CPEi 300 Series is a desktop consumer device that provides wireless broadband connectivity to the unserved or underserved. This customer premises equipment (CPE) features one data port for basic, data-centric operations and two analog terminal adaptors (ATAs) so end users can plug in their existing analog phones for VoIP service. The WiMAX CPEi 300 is scheduled to be available to operators in Q4 2007.

Motorola’s WiMAX CPEi 300 Series desktop CPE is fully compliant to the IEEE 802.16e-2005 technology standard and will be delivered for WiMAX Forum™ certification to ensure interoperability among the global WiMAX ecosystem. While the 802.16e technology standard often is termed “mobile WiMAX” and is capable of delivering cellular-like mobility with broadband data speeds, Motorola recognizes that mobile WiMAX is an excellent choice for operators because it can deliver higher throughput, resulting in a better end user experience for fixed applications. Like all other Motorola CPE, the CPEi 300 employs multiple antenna technology which delivers increased range and higher throughput when compared to products with single antenna solutions.

From its exceptional ease of use, the plug-and-play Motorola CPEi 300 Series Desktop offers a WiMAX solution tailored to appeal to end-users. Featuring the Intel® WiMAX Connection 2250 chipset, it delivers fast, reliable, high-speed wireless broadband connectivity with no waiting for installation, no complex configuration and no operator intervention. The simple, low-profile and appealing form-factor manages to pack tremendous technology capabilities including multi-antenna operations and sophisticated signal processing, flexible and reprogrammable hardware for over-the-air updates, meaning potentially lower deployment costs and fewer support calls for operators.

The Motorola CPEi 300 received the WiMAX World Europe 2007 Award in the devices category in a competition sponsored by Xchange magazine.
