HTC to strengthen its US presence with debut of T-Mobile Shadow
High Tech Computer (HTC) will further strengthen its position in the US market with the October 31 debut of the EDGE-compliant T-Mobile Shadow smartphone by T-Mobile USA, according to market sources in Taiwan.
The sliding-form factor T-Mobile Shadow (HTC codenamed Juno) is powered by a TI (Texas Instruments) OMAP 201MHz processor and features a built-in 2-megapixel camera and Wi-Fi connectivity, but not 3G support, the sources noted.
Incorporated with T-Mobile's myFaves services, users can access their personal e-mail accounts, instant message services, and a number of multimedia capabilities through an easy-to-manage interface, indicated the sources.
In addition to teaming up with T-Mobile USA, HTC has also tied up with three other leading US-based telecom services providers – AT&T, Sprint Nextel, Verizon Wireless – to launch other models targeting the end-of-year buying season.
