HP may suspend cooperation with Inventec Appliances, says paper
Hewlett-Packard (HP) may suspend its cooperation with Inventec Appliances as the Taiwan-based handset maker has repeatedly delayed shipments of the iPAQ 600-series smartphone to the US vendor, a Chinese-language Commercial Times report cited sources in Taiwan's handset industry as saying.
Quoting overseas websites, the paper said that HP has decided to cancel the release of its iPAQ 600 lineup in the US market, but the company will launch the iPAQ 600 as well as the iPAQ 900 series smartphones in the UK in the near future.
HP has been forced to delay the release of the iPAQ 600 lineup – the first series of 3.5G handsets undertaken by Inventec Appliances for any client – as the devices failed to pass tests carried out by HP, the paper said.
