Nokia showcases the latest in mobile gaming at GDC 2008
N-Gage service and new games presented
Game Developers Conference 2008, San Francisco, CA and Espoo, Finland - Nokia today announced a strong presence at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) with new N-Gage and SNAP Mobile games, live demos of the recently launched N-Gage First Access program, and a keynote by Anssi Vanjoki, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Markets, Nokia.
"This year is our biggest GDC to date," said Jaakko Kaidesoja, Director, Games, Nokia. "We have a great presence to share our latest developments with the games industry, including live demos of the N-Gage service, new games, and informational presentations that will help game developers create better mobile games."
New games for N-Gage include: The Dark Knight, SPEED RACER and Super Slam Ping Pong by Glu Mobile; DChoc Café(TM) Solitaire 12-Pack, DChoc Café(TM) Sudoku and DChoc Café(TM) Hold' Em Poker by Digital Chocolate; and Worms World Party by THQ Wireless. Nokia Games Publishing will also bring new titles to the platform including Yamake, where you make the game, and Dirk Dagger and the Fallen Idol, a detective adventure game. In addition, SNAP Mobile, a Nokia mobile Java(TM) gaming solution, will soon offer a customized, multiplayer mobile version of the smash puzzle hit Chuzzle(TM) by PopCap Games.
Anssi Vanjoki, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Markets, Nokia will give a keynote at GDC Mobile on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 9:05am in Room 134, North Hall of the Moscone Convention Center. Titled 'Play with anybody everywhere - context, the new paradigm for game play', the keynote will address the company's move into context aware services and the impact that mobile devices are having on entertainment around the world, and the role that N-Gage will play in evolving mobile games experiences and the industry. There will also be a series of mobile lectures and case studies presented by Nokia executives at GDC Mobile, February 18-19, 2008.
'Pushing the Mobile Gaming State of the Art with Nokia 1st Party Games' presented by Dan Scott, Global Head of Production, Nokia. Scott will offer insights into how Nokia 1st party games are addressing stumbling blocks in mobile gaming.

This session will review recent pervasive game implementations, and analyze how game designers use context aware technologies and networks to enable collaboration between multiple players.
