BOMBAY SAPPHIRE(R) Is the Perfect Serve at The 24th Annual Sony Ericsson Open
Super-Premium Brand To Create Upscale Lounge and Official Cocktail for Tournament
MIAMI, /PRNewswire/ -- BOMBAY SAPPHIRE(R) gin, the fastest- growing, super-premium gin in the world, announced their sponsorship of the 24th annual Sony Ericsson Open, which takes place from March 26 - April 6, 2008 in Miami, Fla.
For the duration of the tournament, BOMBAY SAPPHIRE will host an exclusive, upscale lounge, where consumers (21 and older) can rub elbows with glitterati while enjoying signature cocktails after viewing daily matches. The lounge will feature the aptly named Sapphire Ace, the perfect serve and the official cocktail of the Sony Ericsson Open (recipe at the end of release). The cocktail's creator, BOMBAY SAPPHIRE Master Mixologist, James Moreland, will host daily mixology sessions in the lounge. Consumers will learn first-hand how to create delicious, signature gin cocktails for
their own at-home soirees, and be given a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the world of cocktail culture.
"As our brand is synonymous with modern luxury and cocktail sophistication, we believe an event with the cachet of the Sony Ericsson Open provides the perfect opportunity to engage consumers who value refined taste," said Christine Moll, BOMBAY SAPPHIRE senior brand manager. "The BOMBAY SAPPHIRE Lounge will offer attendees the chance to experience the versatility of gin within a stylish, cocktail oasis in the midst of the tournament day."
In anticipation of the Sony Ericsson Open, BOMBAY SAPPHIRE recently held a Miami bartender competition, which challenged local talent to create innovative, BOMBAY SAPPHIRE-inspired cocktails to be served in the lounge. The winning cocktails - the Sapphire Pearadise, created by Eric Tirums and the Sapphire Citrus Mojito, created by Robin Schaffer - were chosen by the newest BOMBAY SAPPHIRE Master Mixologist, Milo Rodriguez.
