ARLINGTON HTS., Ill. – 26 March 2008 – From access technologies, home networks, services and applications, and enterprise mobility, Motorola, Inc. (NYSE:MOT) will showcase its personal media experience -- including demonstrations of its Long Term Evolution (LTE) solutions -- at CTIA Wireless 2008.
Visitors to Motorola’s booth #1806 at the Las Vegas Convention Center will see LTE experiences including:
High definition (HD) video blogging - HD video will be streamed live over LTE to an IPTV set-top box back home for family or friends to view
HD video over LTE – shows how HD movies and personal videos can be streamed over future LTE devices to continue the viewing experience on the move
CDMA LTE hand-over – an industry first demonstration
Online racing car game played live over the Motorola LTE network to demonstrate LTE low latency
“Motorola has the expertise to deliver wireless broadband solutions that can meet the need for ever-increasing amounts of bandwidth and performance to support today’s and future mobile multimedia applications,” said Darren McQueen, vice president, IMS, Cellular and Broadband Network Technologies, Motorola Home & Networks Mobility. “With our expertise in OFDM-based technologies and success as an industry leader in WiMAX, Motorola is uniquely positioned to rapidly bring market-leading LTE solutions to the global marketplace.”
LTE is an all-IP, OFDM-based technology that will deliver a personal media experience similar to that of fixed line broadband both in terms of bandwidth and latency. With LTE, applications that can be delivered today on fixed line will soon be available over the air and with full mobility. Motorola is combining expertise from across Motorola including chipsets, network and video head-end solutions, and professional services to develop a Motorola LTE ecosystem that will enable true media mobility. LTE will deliver the bandwidth and performance for operators to offer innovative applications that can help them increase revenues and gain a competitive advantage.
