HTC raises Touch Diamond shipment projection for 2008, says paper
High Tech Computer (HTC) has raised its shipment projection of its HTC Touch Diamond to three million units for 2008 from a previous forecast of two million units, the Chinese-language Commercial Times quoted company CEO Peter Chou as indicating.
Chou updated the company's shipment projections for the Touch Diamond at a symposium held in Tokyo on May 21, said the paper. Chou also was quoted as indicating that it took 11 months for HTC to sell up to three million HTC Touch handsets, but it will take only seven months for the company to sell the same number of Touch Diamond handsets. HTC launched the Touch Diamond early this month.
