The new UIQ 3 SDK Synchronizer is a plug-in for Carbide which allows you to take a snapshot of you current UIQ 3 SDK installation and compare any changes made to it over time.

If you are developing Symbian OS-based applications, you will typically make modifications to your SDK installation as you develop. This can lead to potential issues over time as you develop upon a modified SDK and can not easily identify any changes made as you move between projects. The current solution is to re-install your SDK which is a time-consuming task and interrupts work-flow.
The UIQ 3 SDK Synchronizer takes a snapshot of your current SDK installation which is essentially a zip archive of the epoc32 branch. You can then compare your 'live' SDK with your archive and easily identify any files that have been added, removed or modified and, if necessary, reset to your original snapshot image.
The UIQ 3 SDK has been freshly installed and captured.
Looking for any files that have been changed in the 'live' installation.
A missing file has been identified and is highlighted.
The recommended approach is to take a snapshot of a freshly installed UIQ 3 SDK before you have done any work so as to ensure an original image can be made.
The plug-in can be installed by simply extracting to your Carbide installation (1.2 / 1.3). You can enable the view under Window -> Show View -> SDK Synchronizer View.
Note: you should always ensure your working projects directory is outside your UIQ 3 SDK installation - the Synchronize function will remove files and should be used with care.
