Giantplus to ship handset-use TFT LCD panels to LGE and Samsung, says paper

Giantplus Technology is expected to start shipping handset-use TFT LCD panels to LG Electronics (LGE) and Samsung Electronics later this year, according to the Chinese-language Commercial Times, which cited market sources.

While shipments to LGE will start in the third quarter, Giantplus has already delivered samples to Samsung, with volume shipments expected to start in the fourth quarter, the newspaper said. Giantplus vice president Jung-hsiang Tseng was cited as declining to comment on the affairs of individual clients, but he confirmed that the TFT LCD segment will have brand-name clients, with trial and volume production beginning in July and August, respectively.
