Global Mobile signs WiMAX MOU with NextWave Wireless

Taiwan WiMAX licensee Global Mobile, on June 4, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for cooperation in the WiMAX field with US-based NextWave Wireless.

With NextWave having experience in helping New York City deploy WiMAX networks and services, Global Mobile aims to help cities and counties in Taiwan build up their wireless broadband environment through its cooperation with NextWave, the Chinese-language Commercial Times quoted Global Mobile chairperson Rosemary Ho as saying.

In addition, Global Mobile will cooperate with NextWave in the procurement of WiMAX equipment and devices as well as content and application services, according to Global Mobile.
