The WiMAX Expo has attracted a number of international equipment vendors, including Alcatel-Lucent, Intel, Motorola, Fujitsu, Nortel Networks, Nokia Siemens Networks, Starent and WiChorus, to attend the event.
On the other hand, domestic WiMAX equipment and CPE vendors, including Zyxel Communications, Tecom, Gemtek Technology, Alpha Networks, Microelectronic Technology (MTI) and Universal Scientific Industrial (USI), are showcasing their CPE products and base stations.
Five of Taiwan's licensed WiMAX operators – Global Mobile, First International Telecom (Fitel), Vmax Telecom, Tatung Telecom and Far EasTone Telecommunications (FET) – will also present at the show to tout their forthcoming WiMAX services.
The WiMAX Expo will also serve as a platform for IT makers and vendors such as Quanta Computer, Asustek Computer and Acer to showcase their WiMAX-enable notebooks.
The WiMAX Forum, together with the show organizers, the Taiwan government-backed ITRI (Industrial Technology Research Institute) and the III (Institute for Information Industry), is also holding a WiMAX Forum Operator Summit simultaneously with the WiMAX Expo. The event aims to facilitate the sharing of visions and experiences related to WiMAX strategy, business models and applications among global operators.
