Björn Olsson, Executive Vice President of Ericsson, to pursue opportunities outside Ericsson

Björn Olsson, Executive Vice President of Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) and deputy head of Business Unit Network, has decided to pursue opportunities outside Ericsson and will leave the company at year-end.

"Björn Olsson has been with Ericsson for more than 25 years and he has held many key management positions within the company. I respect that he has decided to pursue opportunities outside Ericsson. During his career within Ericsson, he has contributed with his vast experience in a highly appreciated way" says Carl-Henric Svanberg, President and CEO of Ericsson.

Björn Olsson was Executive Vice President and head of Business Unit Systems 2004-2007. Prior to that he was Chief Information Officer 2002-2003 and between 2001-2002 he was Vice President and General Manager of Business Unit Transmission and Transport Networks. He has also held the positions among others, as head of Business Unit TDMA Systems and head of Ericsson Denmark.
He has been a member of the Group Management Team since 2003.
