Chunghwa Telecom plans to make equity investment in Zyxel, says paper
Chunghwa Telecom (CHT), the largest telecom services provider in Taiwan, reportedly plans to make equity investment in network-equipment maker Zyxel Communications, according to a Chinese-language Commercial Times report.
According to CHT's plans, the carrier expects to take up a 8-10% stake in Zyxel that will enable it to have one seat on the board of the networking device maker, said the paper, adding that the deal will be worth over NT$1 billion (US$32.9 million) based on the closing price of NT$28.5 of Zyxel shares on the Taiwan Stock Exchange on July 25.
