Huawei Participates In WiMAX Forum® Mobile PlugFest
[Shenzhen] Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. ("Huawei"), a leader in providing next generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, has announced that it has participated in a Mobile PlugFest, sponsored by the WiMAX Forum® and hosted by AT4wireless in Malaga, Spain. During the event, 28 member companies including terminal vendors, infrastructure vendors, and service and chipset providers participated in interoperability testing for the development of the WiMAX industry.
Huawei is dedicated to achieving WiMAX product compatibility through considerable R&D investment, in-house testing with multiple vendors and actively participating in the WiMAX Forum's PlugFest events. Huawei conducted interoperability tests with the WiMAX ecosystem vendors in PlugFest to enable the company to initiate its planned upcoming WiMAX Forum Certified Equipment testing.
"PlugFest is an important opportunity, before the formal certification test of Wave2 products, for Huawei to collaborate with other vendors towards achieving WiMAX industry interoperability," said Zhao Ming, President of Huawei WiMAX product line. "Holding an open policy, Huawei is dedicated to building a healthy WiMAX ecosystem for the benefit and development of the telecom industry."
To date, Huawei has 1,200 engineers engaged in WiMAX R&D worldwide and it has built two global WiMAX IOT(Interoperability Testing Centers in Shenzhen and in Hong Kong, China.
