Huawei Showcases 'Green' CDMA End-to-End Solution
Reduces Environmental Impact and Generates TCO Savings
[Mauritius, 31 July 2008] Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. ("Huawei"), a leader in providing next generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, has announced that it showcased its industry-leading ' green' CDMA end-to-end solution at the 3rd Global CDMA Operation and Development Forum, which took place on 17 July 2008 in Mauritius.
In line with the forum' s theme of "future-oriented green evolution", Huawei proposed that by adopting the latest 4th Generation Base Transceiver Stations (BTS' s) and ALL IP technology into the CDMA development area and by using ' green' BTS' s, core networks with multi-network convergence design, green site accessory facilities solutions, and environment protecting energy solutions, operators are able to reduce CO2 emissions and the environmental impact of their CDMA systems.
Huawei' s innovative CDMA solution uses 30% less BTS sites. The low power consumption of this latest CDMA green solution not only contributes to environment protection but also generates significant total cost of ownership (TCO) savings for operators.
"Huawei' s 4th Generation base station platform supports CDMA, GSM, WCDMA, and WiMAX simultaneously and can easily be upgraded to support UMB or LTE, further protecting operators' existing investments and enabling smooth network evolution in the future." said Kevin Li, analyst from In-Stat during the forum. "Huawei has showed outstanding performance in core green technologies, especially in unified platform solutions."
"Creating ' green' mobile broadband networks that allow for smooth network evolution is key to the development of the CDMA industry," said Wu Hui, Vice President of Huawei Global CDMA & WiMAX Solution Sales Department, during his keynote speech at the forum. "As a leading telecom provider, which is concerned about the state of the environment, Huawei is dedicated to building a healthy CDMA ecosystem through continuous investment and innovation. Our industry-leading CDMA end-to-end ' green' solution shows that operators can enjoy a much greener CDMA mobile network while also realizing TCO savings."
