Iusacell and RIM launch the BlackBerry Curve 8330 Smartphone in Mexico

BlackBerry Curve 8330 Smartphone features rich multimedia with full QWERTY keyboard and support for Iusacell's high-speed EV-DO (3G) network, making it fast and easy for customers to stay connected, entertained and productive with total mobility

México D.F.- Iusacell and Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM; TSX: RIM) introduced the BlackBerry® Curve™ 8330 smartphone to customers in Mexico. The stylish and multimedia-rich BlackBerry Curve 8330 is distinguished by its smooth edges, chrome highlights and liquid silver-color finish and will use Iusacell’s Evolution-Data Optimized (EV-DO) high speed (3G) network.

This professional-class smartphone includes premium phone features, email, messaging, multimedia and web access together with support for a wide range of other mobile applications. It also comes with support for GPS navigation applications such as Copiloto Ubicacel, Iusacell’s GPS service which provides customers with maps and audible directions as well as information on places of interest.

In addition, the BlackBerry Curve 8330 from Iusacell includes support for Iusatv, live television with more than 20 open and premium channels, as well as video download on demand. The smartphone will also offer BAM connectivity (Mobile Broadband), allowing customers to use the handset as a tethered modem for a PC or laptop, allowing them to browse the Internet from virtually anywhere in Mexico. The Ubicacel application is also available, enabling users to see their geographic position on a map relative to other users of the service. Iusacell will also offer an MP3 service for its customers and much more.

The BlackBerry Curve 8330 is the smallest and lightest full-QWERTY BlackBerry smartphone offered by Iusacell. It combines elegant styling with rich multimedia capabilities and services to feed the user's senses, while allowing them to stay connected to their professional or work responsibilities, as well as family and friends, while on-the-go.

The smartphone is also supported on BlackBerry Professional Software for small businesses and BlackBerry Enterprise Server, both of which provide advanced security and IT administration capabilities within IBM Lotus® Domino, Microsoft® Exchange and Novell® GroupWise® environments.
