Lite-On takes up a 20% stake in wireless antenna maker
Lite-On Technology has taken up a 19.9% stake in wireless antenna maker Auden Technology for NT$179 million (US$5.89 million), or NT$22 per share, through a private placement, according to a company press release.
The new acquisition is part of the company's plans to integrate its production chain of key parts and components for handsets, the company stated.
Auden, which produces wireless antennas for handheld mobile devices, currently has a paid-in capital of NT$297 million, with its revenues topping NT$440 million in 2007, according to data available at Auden.
In order to offer best handset solutions to its clients, Lite-On will continue to seek opportunities for other acquisitions or establishing strategic alliances with other component suppliers, the company said.
