Qisda to begin shipping MID products to T-Mobile, says paper
The handset business unit of Taiwan-based Qisda is expected to make a major turnaround when it begin to ship a MID (mobile Internet device) product to T-Mobile later this quarter, according to a Chinese-language Commercial Times report.
Although the initial shipments of the MID model will top about 200,000 units, the MID orders from T-Mobile will mark a major breakthrough in business ties between Qisda and T-Mobile, a company that had been reluctant to do business with Qisda, the former manufacturing arm of BenQ, the paper indicated.
Qisda is also expected to start shipping a 3G handset model to Motorola later in the third quarter, the paper added.
