Taiwan market: Sony Ericsson tops Nokia in handset sales value in June, says paper
Sony Ericsson outperformed Nokia and was ranked as the largest handset vendor in terms of sales value with a 31.6% share of the Taiwan handset market in June, compared to Nokia's 30.8%, the Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN) quoted sources in Taiwan's retail channel as saying.
In terms of unit sales, Sony Ericsson was the number two ranked vendor with a 24.8% share, trailing Nokia, which has been enjoying a market share of over 30% for months, the paper noted.
Sales of handsets in Taiwan totaled 571,300 units in June, up 0.9% on month but were down 4.5% from a year earlier, the paper said.
