Video: LG and Actor Erik Estrada Unite to Give Away Bluetooth Headsets to Help Los Angeles Area Residents Prepare for New Hands-Free Driving Law

Free Event Took Place on June 19 at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, /PRNewswire/ -- On July 1, California and Washington will be the newest states to implement a law requiring drivers to use hands-free devices while behind the wheel to avoid being issued a ticket. In an effort to raise awareness about convenient hands-free options available to consumers which enable safer driving, LG Mobile Phones hosted an event titled "Red, White & Bluetooth" on June 19, 2008 at the Petersen Automotive Museum which is located at 6060 Wilshire Boulevard (at Fairfax Boulevard) in Los Angeles.

LG has partnered with pop icon / actor Erik Estrada a tireless supporter of law enforcement, conducted a press briefing and provided interviews regarding the significance of this new law. The press briefing occurred at 11:30 a.m. followed by a free giveaway, which was open to the public until 1:30 p.m. More than 1,000 LG Bluetooth headsets were given away while supplies lasted. LG product specialists were available to answer questions about pairing headsets and handsets.

LG recently launched three new headsets to further expand its current product line-up. The HFB 500 is equipped with speaker phone, allows for up to 16 hours of talk time, and has the ability to cancel out excess background noise. The HBM 310 permits up to 6 hours of talk time and features an E-clip movable ear bud that users can adjust for a more comfortable fit. The HBS 250 supports ten hours of talk time and is loaded with entertainment capabilities that include ten hours of music listening
time. In addition to these new headsets, LG launched the Decoy(TM), the world's fist mobile phone with a detachable Bluetooth wireless headset. This new phone features a discreet built-in headset that is Bluetooth version 2.1+EDR (Enhanced Data Rate), and boasts entertainment capabilities that include a music player and 2.0 megapixel camera and camcorder.   1. The tendency is really good. All countries in Europe have same laws, hope all states of America will join our state in banning the use of mobile phones with the hands while driving.
    The fine should be much more i think. Then one could even have no ability to compare the price of a hands-free and a fine.
