Chunghwa Telecom to focus on LTE technology, says paper
Chunghwa Telecom (CHT) plans to focus on the development of LTE (long term evolution) technology for its next-generation telecom networks, the Chinese-language Commercial Times quoted CHT's newly appointed chairman Shyue-ching Lu as indicating.
As a number of telecom service operators around the globe, including AT&T, Verizon and Vodafone, have expressed their support for LTE, it is natural for CHT to follow suit, the paper quoted CHT sources as saying. However, the paper noted that CHT's decision may significantly affect the Taiwan government's efforts to promote the development of the WiMAX industry.
