Taiwan's three science parks turned out total revenues of over NT$1 trillion in 1H08

The three science parks in Taiwan, Hsinchu (HSP), Southern (STSP) and Central (CTSP), generated total revenues of NT$1.022 trillion (US$32.57 billion) during the first half of 2008, according to statistics released by the National Science Council (NSC).

Of the total revenues, NT$4,85.565 billion or 47.50% came from IC industries, followed by opto-electronics with NT$451.975 billion (44.22%), computers and peripherals with NT$42.236 billion (4.13%), precision machinery with NT$19.574 billion (1.91%), telecommunication/networking with NT$164.88 billion (1.61%) and biotechnology with NT$3.769 billion (0.37%).
