Huawei Unveils new Innovation and Demo Centre in Germany
Huawei Technologies ("Huawei"), a leader in providing next generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, opened its new Innovation and Demo Centre in Darmstadt, Germany. The Centre creates an environment where Huawei customers and partners can experience, develop and test Huawei' s latest innovative solutions.
The Centre aims to support operators in achieving a smooth evolution from existing networks to ALL-IP FMC networks. After years of dedication to the communications industry, and by establishing comprehensive advantages in core areas such as fixed network, mobile network and data communication technology, Huawei has emerged as a leader in the age of ALL-IP FMC.
"This Innovation and Demo Centre reinforces our long-term commitment to the German market. It houses Huawei' s latest products and solutions in a fully operational test environment, all of which meets the latest operator requirements for network migration. It will be a place for close collaboration with customers, where they can find the solutions needed for their future growth", said Haifeng Ling, Vice President European Region, Huawei Technologies.
Broadband services for the home and office are key for increasing operator revenues, and an enhanced user experience is vital. 700 square meters in size, the centre therefore consists of three experience zones with end-user application scenarios for businesses as well as consumers to experience services at home, in office and on the move.
Within the Centre, The "Home Zone" showcases private user products for applications like IPTV, Online Gaming, High Speed Internet and IMS-based value added services. The "Office Zone" presents business applications like IP Centrex, video conference calling as well as SIP-based services like FAX and POTS phone. The "Lounge Zone" features services like mobile video phone on WiFi and IPTV. Connected with Huawei' s Headquarters, it also enables Huawei experts in China to work directly with customers.
"Internationality has been a hallmark of Hesse as an ICT location for a long time. Hessian companies sit side by side with international companies in the long list of leading ICT organizations that have a presence here in Hesse. Southern Hesse is one of the strongest ICT locations in Germany, and Huawei' s decision to build its new Innovation and Demo Centre in Darmstadt brings new jobs and further technical know-how to the region. We are delighted that Huawei, one of the largest and most innovative internationally active technology companies from China, has chosen Hesse as the site for its head office and now for its innovation and Demo Centre," said economy minister Rhiel.
Mr. Ling added, "Darmstadt is a significant site for telecommunications operators. Germany is one of the largest telecommunication markets for us, and the Centre is an important step to fortify our focus on this market. We have highly qualified specialists in the Centre working closely with customers to develop solutions based on their business needs. This strengthens our growth not only in Germany, but also throughout Europe."
