Motorola Wins TETRA Contracts From Three India International Airports
Delhi, Bengaluru and Hyderabad International Airports to use Motorola’s Next-Generation Digital Communication Solutions for Mission Critical Needs
New Delhi, India - September 10, 2008 – Motorola Inc. (NYSE: MOT) today announced that it has won contracts to provide TETRA (TErrestrial Trunked RAdio) digital radio communication networks to Delhi International Airport Ltd, Bangalore International Airport Limited and GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited.
Under the contracts, Motorola will supply scalable Dimetra IP based mission critical networks to the new airports in Bengaluru as well as Hyderabad, and replace the existing analogue radio network used by domestic and international airports in Delhi. The Dimetra IP system, an enhanced IP-based TETRA solution, is highly flexible and scalable and can support voice, messaging and mobile applications, including remote access to data and data transmission over a single network. The system will enable secure, always-on mobile voice and data channels, and is capable of full interoperability across multiple user segments to improve operational efficiency and achieve fail-safe seamless communications essential for ensuring passenger safety and security.
