Huawei Technologies - a gold sponsor an international forum 3GPP-
The company Huawei Technologies announced today that it has a gold sponsor an international forum 3GPP-2008, which took place on 8 October in Moscow for the first time in Russia. The event was organized by international partnerships, 3GPP, established in December 1998. with a view to developing a globally advanced standards in the field of mobile communications (GSM, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS (WCDMA), IMS, HSPA, LTE, IMT-2000 Advanced). The event discussed prospects for the development of standards GERAN (GSM, GPRS, EDGE), UTRAN (UTRA, HSPA, HSPA +, LTE), the market for mobile services in the world and the basic architecture of mobile communication networks (including IMS). The forum was attended by representatives of major world and domestic telecom operators (Vodafone, T-Mobile, NTT DoCoMo, «MegaFon», «Sky Link», etc.), companies that provide services to mobile communications, telecommunications equipment manufacturers, the International Organization for Standardization ( ITU, ETSI, PCG), as well as independent experts and researchers.

According to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), in 2007. Huawei ranked fourth among the major patent applicants under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) WIPO. The first three places belong to Matsushita, Philips Electronics NV and Siemens. The company Huawei filed in 2007. 1365 applications, rising by 9 positions up compared with 2006.
