HTC to ship Touch Diamond handsets to Softbank Mobile and KDDI
After having recently delivered HTC Victor handsets to Japan-based Emobile, High Tech Computer (HTC) has also landed orders for its Diamond-series handsets from two other mobile operators in Japan – Softbank Mobile and KDDI, according to market sources.
HTC will manufacture the X04HT (HTC Touch Diamond) and X05HT (HTC Touch Pro) for Softbank, which plans to market the former model early this month and the latter in December.
In addition, HTC will offer a CDMA 1x EV-DO Rev. A version of Touch Pro to KDDI, which is scheduled to launch the model under the trade name E30HT in the second quarter of 2009.
Market sources also pointed out that HTC is also in talks with DoCoMo to jointly launch Touch Diamond handsets in Japan, with models to be decided later.
