Samsung Inks Major European Hotel Deals
- Global Electronics Leader Transforms Hotel Market With Award-Winning TV Range
Samsung announces a raft of major deals in the hotel industry, marking the end of a highly successful 12 month launch period in which it has seized 20 per cent market share.
Samsung has partnered with Europe's top hotel systems integrators, Acentic, Locatel and Quadriga, to provide a 'one stop shop' for entertainment and revenue generation via hotel TVs. Prestigious European hotel groups which have already installed Samsung include, De Vere, Dorchester, Concorde Louvre Hotel and The Intercontinental Hotel Group.
Pammi Mudhar, European B2B Sales Director, Samsung said: "By adapting our award-winning 4 and 6 Series Flat Screen TVs for hotels, Samsung has developed an offering which is high on design and functionality, but low on price. As one of the most instantly recognisable consumer technology brands, Samsung is now acutely focused on becoming Europe's premier hotel technology supplier."
Using Acentic and Samsung, the Cavendish hotel in London has installed in-room digital broadcast, on-demand and interactive television systems in all of its 230 rooms. Hotel General Manager, Ciaran Fahy, said: "Our guests are more discerning than ever about their choice of hotel - and the standard of in-room technology is a major factor in their choice. By offering the high levels of design, picture quality and connectivity of Samsung TVs we are exceeding guests' expectations."
"The TV is a reflection of the quality of a hotel and represents our commitment to guest satisfaction and a unique in-room entertainment experience," said Alistair Forbes, CEO at Acentic. "We are delighted with our partnership with Samsung, which we believe will enable European hotels to bring perfect picture quality content, stunning design and a set of tools that they can use to increase their TV revenue, as well as extend the hotel's image and branding to guests through the TV screen."
Mr. Mudhar added: "European Hotels have been hit hard by slowing economic conditions and many are cutting their rates to shore up business levels. However, hoteliers should not fall into the trap of devaluing the hotel experience by price-cutting. Instead, they should seek ways to cost-effectively improve their rooms - thereby appealing to broader market segments, as opposed to limiting their appeal to higher end hotel guests."
The sleek Flat Panel LCD TVs present the best crystal clear quality, along with Samsung's unique Touch of Colour design. Samsung hotel TVs also allow instant access to multimedia content from portable devices, including media players, camcorders and cameras. As well as being an essential viewing device, Samsung's hotel range enables guests to connect to the internet - supplying live weather and news reports, as well as interactive information about the hotel's services.
Samsung TVs have been installed within the following prestigious European hotels:
- Hotel Meurice (Dorchester), Paris
- Hotel Plaza Athenee (Dorchester), Paris
- Hotel Crillon (Concorde Louvre Hotel), Paris
- The Connaught, Mayfair, London
- The De Vere Cavendish, Jermyn St, London
- The Intercontinental Hotel Group (preferred supplier EMEA)
