Foxconn skeptical over BYD's claim over withdrawal of IP lawsuit
Foxconn International Holdings (FIH) has not yet been notified by Chinese police concerning claims that they have dropped a criminal probe into allegedly illegal use of its intellectual property (IP) by China-based rival maker BYD, according to Edmund Ding, spokesman of FIH's parent company Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Inudstry).
Ding made the remarks after BYD claimed recently that the police in China have dropped a criminal investigation into allegations that it persuaded staff at FIH to divulge confidential business information.
While declining to comment directly on BYD's claims, Ding said that Foxconn remains skeptical about the accuracy, comprehensiveness and truth of BYD's announcement.
In its announcement, BYD also said that key members of the IP verification center in Beijing assigned to verify the evidence provided by FIH have been arrested for forgery and accepting bribes.
