Huawei Opens R&D Centre and Training Centre in Indonesia

Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. ("Huawei"), a leader in providing next-generation telecommunications networks for operators around the world, launched its R&D centre and training centre in Jakarta today.



The new R&D centre is a wholly-owned unit of PT Huawei Tech Investment in Indonesia and it involves around 40 local experienced engineers at the beginning stage. The R&D centre will focus on developing customized application software design for Indonesia market. This will enable Huawei to develop services that will benefit its operator partners, especially in Content and Value –added services (VAS).

Huawei also established a state-of-the-art training centre in Jakarta. The training centre will have the next generation network equipments including NGN soft-switch, CDMA 1x and EVDO, core network, and access system. Both centres are located in Huawei Jakarta office.

Huawei Tech Investment.

To enhance customer correspondence and optimal response, Huawei has established joint innovation centres with Vodafone, British Telecom, Telecom Italia, France Telecom, Telefonica and Deutsche Telekom. These centres expedite the translation of technological advantages into time and efficiency critical competitive advantages.

Huawei understands the importance of providing cost effective and value-added telecom solutions to support Indonesia' s telecommunication infrastructures. A number of Huawei' s products are already deployed in Indonesia including GSM, UMTS, CDMA, Transmission and Data, Access Network, Core Network, VAS and Terminal. Currently,Huawei employs 1,200 workforce in Indonesia and over 80% are local employees.
