Huawei to Open Network Innovation Center for Further Collaboration with Telecom Italia
Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. ("Huawei") and Telecom Italia signed an agreement to kick-off a Network Innovation Centre (NIC), which is aimed at accelerating the development of advanced technologies for Telecom Italia.
The NIC will focus on research on green ultra-broadband network, Quality of Services, Quality of Experience, Fixed Mobile Convergence etc. to provide more services and better experience to users in Italy. It provides a platform of both parties to share minds and invent new ideas, methodologies, and solutions to evolve towards ultra broadband solutions, to mitigate digital divide, save energy and reduce CO2 emission. This will bring significant economic and social benefits, protect environment and contribute to mitigate global warming issue.
The NIC will work in close relation with Telecom Italia research and innovation labs (TILab)
"With Network Innovation Centre, we will study new technologies and solutions to offer a broad range of benefits to the Italian business community as well as the end-users", commented William Xu, Chief Marketing Officer of Huawei Technologies, "Huawei would like to be a long-term strategic partner of Telecom Italia. Our aim is to closely work together to deliver the innovative solutions, meanwhile boost the local telecom industry and contribute to local society”.
