Sprint Nextel Briefing on Network Preparations & Key Initiatives for 2009 Presidential Inauguration

WHAT: The upcoming historic Presidential Inauguration is an unprecedented event for the Nation's Capitol. More than four million people are planning to attend the Presidential Inaugural Ceremony on Jan. 20, 2009 and given the enormity of this event, communications will play a key role for everyone involved in the planning of the event and for those attending.

During a large scale event, reliable communications is vital for public safety agencies. Sprint Nextel has a strong history of providing wireless devices, applications and augmenting our networks for large events such as Presidential Inaugurations, political conventions and after natural disasters.

Sprint is holding this special briefing to demonstrate our preparations for this unprecedented event. Discussion topics will include Sprint's network preparations, and how we are working with federal and local public safety agencies to ensure they have the wireless resources and devices they need to communicate.
