Palm announced the Palm webOS and Palm Pre
The company announced a new Palm operating system Palm webOS, formerly known as code-named Nova, and the first device based on it - Palm Pre. The platform uses a standard technology, including Web technologies such as CSS, XHTML and JavaScript.
Palm Synergy is one of the key features of Palm webOS, it allows information from different places in logical, organized way, including calendars, contacts and communications. Another one was the use of applications with a permanent Internet connection, providing relevant information, multitasking, with the possibility to leave a lot of applications open and easily switch from one to another, as well as multi-touch interface.
Palm Pre is a slider with quite a large touch screen and QWERTY-keyboard. Form slider slightly bent for convenience, the interface supports the recognition of different combinations of touches.
