The new specifications empower SD cards as the volume of information storage up to 2 TB (terabytes!), Which previously was limited to 32 GB SDHC memory cards, as well as the throughput speed interface - up to 104 megabytes per second with a possible extension of the limit to 300 MB / sec in the future.
Full technical specifications of the new open standard for SD memory cards will be issued in the first quarter of this year. SDXC memory card will use the file system exFAT, developed by Microsoft, which has the support of the files and drives a large volume, as well as interoperability with a wide range of PCs, consumer electronics and mobile phones. It is noteworthy that in the case of SDXC cards totaling 2 TB they will burn up to 100 HD movies, 60 hours of HD video recording or a 17-ty of thousands of high-quality photos.
