Showcasing talent
"The high standard of competition entries shows that the mobile content industry is alive with innovation and energy," said Bjorn Ahlberg, Head of Sony Ericsson Content & Services.
"We are thrilled to showcase the best in mobile content and applications from the third-party developer community and will continue to support the unique propositions and consumer experiences generated by the mobile content ecosystem."
We received hundreds of entries for this year's competition, and the selected nominees were judged by a panel of industry experts and thought leaders. The criteria used to choose the winners were ease of use, innovation, look and feel, entertainment or usefulness value and in some cases, audio performance.
"The judging sessions underscored the quality of the content submitted," said Jens Greve, Head of Developer Program at Sony Ericsson.
"We were all impressed with the creativity of the content and the jury had a difficult job selecting the most intuitive, entertaining and useful submissions from a very strong field."
Winners' stories and prizes
In addition to the online awards show, videos and animations, the winners are also presented in case studies.
Winning a prize that money can't buy, the winners will be brought to Sony Ericsson's development site in Lund, Sweden, for an exclusive, behind-the-scenes two-day visit where they will meet members of Sony Ericsson's senior management and discuss business with Sony Ericsson's content decision makers.
The winners will also recieve the 2008 winner's symbol which can be used on their web site and in marketing literature.
