Missouri Customers Benefit from Sprint's Enhanced Network Coverage and Capacity
Wireless Network Improvements Result in J.D. Power and Associates Award for Wireless Call Quality in Southwest Region, Including the Show-Me State
ST. LOUIS-- Sprint (NYSE:S) wireless customers in St. Louis and throughout Missouri should experience even better wireless service as a result of recent local network enhancements. Sprint invested $37.7 million throughout the Show-Me State in 2008, with $25.6 million of it invested in St. Louis.
“Our customers depend on, and enjoy, high-quality voice services and dependable mobile broadband service,” said Steve Brandon, director of area engineering. “By enhancing coverage and capacity in the area, across both of our wireless networks, Sprint is making it easier than ever for customers to cut the cord or landline phone to save money and go completely wireless.”
Local network enhancements include:
South Kirkwood Road in St. Louis near Vianney High School and Sunset Hills Shopping Plaza
Tesson Ferry Road in St. Louis near Concord Village
Feise Road in O’Fallon between Hanley Road and Stoney Brook Drive
Since 2006, Sprint has invested more than $15 billion in capital largely to enhance its networks nationally. Across the country, thousands of cities received the benefit of this major investment. Sprint's wireless networks continue to perform at their best-ever levels and independent third-party reports confirm very strong network performance relative to the competition. This is evidenced by the recent J.D. Power and Associates award for “Highest Call Quality Performance Among Wireless Cell Phone Users in the Southwest Region (KS, MO, OK, AR, and TX) in a Tie” by J.D. Power and Associates (Source: J.D. Power 2008 Wireless Call Quality Performance Study – Volume 2, Sept. 4, 2008).*
Based on our internal metrics, dropped and blocked call rates continue to be at all-time lows with double-digit, year-over-year improvement from December 2007 to December 2008.
Current and prospective customers can view coverage maps using the Sprint Coverage Tool, which is available at www.sprint.com/coverage and at self-service, touch-screen kiosks at many Sprint retail stores.
