Samsung Denies Mobile Phone Rumors
Samsung Electronics has no plans to introduce its first Android-based smartphone or a 12-megapixel camera phone at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week.
According to a source familiar with Samsung's internal marketing plans for the MWC event, Samsung will not officially disclose information about the much-anticipated leading-edge phones.
In the meantime, handset makers at MWC are expected to showcase various new smartphones to seize the booming market, even though mobile phone sales will shrink this year.
Despite Samsung's decicision, handset makers Sony Ericsson and Huawei are expected to unveil their Android-based smartphones at the show. Additionally, Dell will.showcase its Google phone, while Acer will also introduce its smartphone.
