Taiwan market: January-February handset sales better than expected, says channel operator

Taiwan-based retail channel operator Senao International has said that its handset sales in the local market have been better than expected in the first two months of this year, in part due to the Taiwan government's distribution of consumer coupons in a bid to stimulate spending.

Although revenues were down 13% on year to NT$1.71 billion (US$49.3 million) in January, the company expects revenues to grow 10-20% sequentially to NT$2 billion in February, said company sources.
