China-based Huawei to set up WiMAX IOT lab in Taiwan, says paper
China-based telecom equipment maker Huawei Technologies plans to set up an interoperability testing (IOT) center for WiMAX products in Taiwan in June, marking the beginning of cooperation between Taiwan and China telecom equipment makers in the WiMAX industry, according to a Chinese-language Commercial Times report.
Through transfer of its core network technologies, Huawei will team up with Taiwan-based WiMAX CPE makers to jointly explore more business opportunities in emerging markets, said the paper, noting that Taiwan makers, including D-Link, Alpha Networks, and Silicon Integrated System (SiS), have expressed interest in joining such cooperation.
