MTS-Ukraine is beginning to build a national Wi-Fi network
Mobile operator MTS-Ukraine has announced today that began with the construction of a national network of «MTS Wi-Fi», and help her in this will be the «Pyxus-2006», which was chosen as the contractor on the basis of open tender for the construction of a network of wireless broadband Internet access via Wi-Fi.
Under the terms of the tender company contractor should deploy branded network «MTS Wi-Fi» and integrate it into existing systems of MTS-Ukraine. Own network of Wi-Fi, as states the operator will allow it to significantly expand the geography of service provision in the standard Wi-Fi under its own brand, as well as to offer users more flexible and attractive rates for broadband wireless Internet access.
In June 2008 the company MTS-Ukraine has received a national license for the provision of wireless broadband Internet access technology for Wi-Fi. This license provides for the use of radio frequency resource in the frequency range of 2.4 GHz within the buildings and structures in all regions of Ukraine for a period of 5 years. Her conditions also include the completion of the development of the entire spectrum of frequencies allocated to October 2011.
To date, the MTS-Ukraine uses leased frequency range, providing Wi-Fi service in 12 major cities of Ukraine, which deployed 55 «hot spots».
