Benefits of Xperia Panel certification
The Xperia Panel Certification Program is the process of certifying that an Xperia Panel has passed performance and quality assurance tests, fulfilling the requirements according to Sony Ericsson’s Xperia Panels certification criteria.
Completing this new Certification Program means that your Xperia Panel is certified - a requirement for participating in any Sony Ericsson promotional activity and distributing your Xperia Panel through Sony Ericsson’s channels.
This new Xperia Panel Certification Program is specifically for the Sony Ericsson X1 phone, sets a high standard for applications and allows you to use the "Certified for Xperia X1" logo in your marketing materials.
NSTL: Authorized test house
Sony Ericsson has appointed NSTL as the authorized, independent test house for Xperia Panels. This means that all Xperia Panels created by both third-party developers and Sony Ericsson follow the same independent qualification process.
Create Xperia Panels for the X1 phone
Since the X1's launch in Q4 2008, close to 420,000 panels have been downloaded onto X1 phones around the world, with half a million unique hits for X1 panels on the Sony Ericsson Fun & Downloads service.
The Sony Ericsson SDK for Windows Mobile 6.1 is a set of tools, plug-ins and documentation that allows you to develop and test Xperia Panels (both Native and HTML), applications for Windows Mobile 6.1 for the Xperia X1 phone and since February 2009, adds Xperia Panels with OpenGL ES support.
Xperia Panel examples include CNN, Skype, Mytopia and On the Road, in addition to the winning panel Spb Traveler from the Sony Ericsson Content Awards 2008.
