Huawei Showcases World' s First M2M 3G Embedded Module for Extreme Working Environments
Huawei Technologies ("Huawei"), a leader in providing next-generation telecommunications network solutions worldwide, today showcased the world' s first industrial strength machine-to-machine (M2M) UMTS embedded module at the International CTIA Wireless 2009 event in Las Vegas.
Huawei' s EM700 module has been designed to endure extreme conditions, such as temperatures ranging from -30°C to +75°C, as well as providing a more superior mobile broadband performance. The new EM700 module is also resistant to very high and low humidity (5%-95%), shock, air pollution and congested wireless network traffic.
"Consumers today need reliable and robust wireless equipment and connections while on the move and it is becoming increasingly important for people to be able to stay connected regardless of their location or the conditions. The world' s first industrial strength embedded module – Huawei' s EM700 – meets this need by providing a vastly improved wireless performance that can be experienced in any environment." said Mr. James Chen, director of Huawei Terminal Marketing Department.
The EM700 module also features a broad range of performance enhancements, including Firmware Over-the-Air (a technology that fixes device software remotely), multiple interfaces that allow flexible usage and connections to other devices, voice and SMS services, and support for mainstream operating systems such as Window2000, XP, VISTA and LINUX.

Huawei has introduced a new concept called the "5A' s" to demonstrate the effectiveness of Huawei' s EM700 embedded module – Anti-humidity, Anti-shock, Anti-dust, Anti-static and Anti-jamming. Huawei' s M2M embedded modules are integrated into mobile computing systems, logistics and fleet management systems, gateways, metering and remote monitoring equipment, and other devices requiring high-speed wireless data connectivity.
