Motorola Names Domingo Herraiz, Former Justice Department Policy Lead, to Direct Government, Enterprise Funding Programs

Knowledge of government funding process benefits customers seeking U.S. stimulus package funds

SCHAUMBURG, ILL. – Motorola Inc. (NYSE: MOT) has named Domingo Herraiz, a former Department of Justice (DOJ) funding and policy expert, to direct the company’s Government and Enterprise Funding Programs as customers and partners seek funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), also known as the U.S. stimulus package.

Herraiz has more than 23 years of government and public safety experience in dealing with local, state and federal policies. Most recently, he served as the U.S. Senate-confirmed director of the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), leading the DOJ’s largest funding and policy unit for state, local and tribal criminal justice issues. Prior to his role as director of the BJA, Herraiz served as the deputy director of the BJA and director of Criminal Justice Services for the state of Ohio.

“A major source of funding for many of our government and enterprise customers is federal funding to governments and federal private market initiatives aimed at expanding the economy,” said Rick Neal, Motorola vice president, strategy and business development, Government & Commercial Markets Americas. “I am very pleased to welcome Domingo Herraiz to Motorola as our customers and partners seek stimulus funding to improve their infrastructures.”

“I look forward to working with our customers and partners during this critical time to navigate the stimulus funding process,” said Herraiz, Motorola director, Government and Enterprise Funding Programs. “As they examine these funding sources, we want to provide our support and resources to help them take advantage of this opportunity to help create jobs that will fuel the U.S. economy while funding critical infrastructure projects, including end-to-end communications solutions that can be enabled by Motorola products and services.”

As part of that effort, Motorola has launched Motorola - American Recovery Act (ARRA), an ARRA site to provide customers and channel partners with information about available grants and other funding resources. The site includes current information about available grants and deadlines, including the Byrne Grant (deadline today to BJA), the Correctional Facilities on Tribal Lands Grant (May 4 deadline to DOJ) and the Byrne JAG Grant (May 18 deadline).

  1. This seems pretty interesting. Do you have the link to Motorola's ARRA website? I'd have to check out those fundings they are offering/talking about.
