PRGM - Russian portable game console
Company «Progeym» today announced the completion of works on creation of a new portable consoles - PRGM (Portable Remote Game Machine). From 1 May, 2009 the first batch of devices will go on sale in Russia. Development of the device was in 2001, the company PROGEYM together in the Institute for System Technology. Participation in the project has been personally Academician Anatoly Ginzburg, who headed an ad hoc working group of the leading members of the institute. Eight work culminated in December 2008, when he was made a test batch of devices. After successful tests in schools and universities of Moscow, it was decided to order a serial installment already - 100 thousand.
Russian game console will be produced in Russia, one of science, whose name has not yet been disclosed. The new game console has all the features of modern analogues: the touch screen, wireless connectivity, which allows to play multiplayer games embedded browser to search for information on the Internet.
The main feature is the availability of devices supporting two interfaces: one for playing cards NDS, the other - the disc PSP. Thus, users can play in any of the popular games, which was published on modern portable attachment. As a consequence of their own plans to develop a standard for devices PRGM.
Popular devices also adds to the advertised price PRGM: the first batch will be sold at a price of 2980 rubles. Since all components prefixes only Russian-made PROGEYM plans to maintain this pricing policy at least until the end of 2009.
Entering the international market is scheduled from February 2010 - has found dealers in the United States and Canada, as well as in the Caribbean.
